What we do · Storage and compute
NAS file services, NFS and SMB

Some workloads need shared files, not block disks: web nodes serving the same content, media libraries, build artefacts, document shares, archives. We run dedicated file services over NFS and SMB on enterprise storage, on your private network, managed end to end. Owned hardware in our datacenters, not an object bucket with a per-request meter.
What it is
A file server, or a pair of them, that your servers mount like a local filesystem. Permissions, quotas, snapshots and shares are configured to your layout, and the filer lives on the same private network as the servers that use it, so file traffic never crosses the public internet.
How we build it
All-flash, on ZFS. Our file services run on all-flash storage with ZFS underneath, chosen for end-to-end checksumming.
Redundant network links. Filers connect to our datacenter fabric with bonded links into a pair of switches, hashed on addresses and ports so every link genuinely carries traffic. A single switch or cable can fail and your mounts stay up.
On your network segment. The filer sits on the same Layer 2 segment as its clients, inside your private network.
Updates with a way back. Filer operating system updates are applied into a new boot environment. The previous environment stays bootable until the new one is proven, so an update is reversible with a reboot.
The right tier for the data. When a library outgrows what file serving should carry, we move it onto Fibre Channel block storage.
What it protects you from
- Web nodes drifting out of sync because each holds its own copy of the content.
- A file server update leaving you without a working system.
- A single network cable or switch dropping every mount.
- File traffic leaving your private network.
- Per-request and egress charges on data you read every day.
In practice
A Windows platform's file server, migrated. A customer's SMB file server moved to Athens with its application servers; the storefront answered in under a tenth of a second on the new platform.
Why EuroVPS
- File services on owned enterprise hardware, on your private network, not a metered public bucket.
- Engineers who choose between file and block storage per workload, and move data when the answer changes.
- Updates with a bootable rollback, every time.
FAQ
NFS or SMB? Both, from the same service if needed. Linux workloads usually mount NFS, Windows workloads and users SMB.
Is my file share backed up? Yes, pulled by our backup platform, with snapshots for fast rollback on top.
Is the NAS shared with other customers? No. Your file service is dedicated to you, exported only to your hosts on your network.
Shared files deserve the same engineering as everything else in your platform. Talk to an engineer about your file layout.
