ConfigServer has announced it will shut down permanently on August 31, 2025. After this date, no downloads, updates, or support will be available for any of its software tools. Both commercial and free products will be affected, though in different ways.
What this means for you
Commercial Products (cxs, osm, MSFE):
- You must update these products to the latest version before August 31, 2025.
- If not updated, the software will stop functioning after the shutdown.
- They cannot be reinstalled or migrated to another server once ConfigServer services are closed.
- Any unused commercial licenses must be activated now to ensure they remain usable.
Free Scripts (csf, cmq, cmm, cmc, cse):
- These scripts will continue to run on servers where they are already installed.
- However, they will receive no further updates, patches, or bug fixes.
- They will also no longer be available for download or installation after August 31.
- While existing installations will remain operational, there will be no security or compatibility updates, which may present risks in the future.
What you should do now
- Review your servers and determine which ConfigServer products are in use.
- Update all commercial products to their latest version well before August 31.
- Download and securely back up installation packages for free scripts while they are still available.
- Activate any unused commercial licenses immediately to ensure continued use.
